Aug 4 days in Canada - Kamloops/Jasper/Banff/Waterton

HI everyone, we are now back over the border into USA in a place called Whitefish Montana. I have a good wifi connection so its time to play catch up with the news.
We have done around 1400 miles since leaving Withrop on Sunday. Have had a some huge days  with leaving our hotel round 8.30 am  and not getting to check in at the next place till round 7.30-8 at night. August is the most popular month to have the family holidays in the states and it seems that all the kids go off to summer camp for a couple of months and then join the family for the holiday in August. We were doing the same tourist vists as a lot of other people and to add to the fun it was also the weekend. In some places it was as they say çrazy busy',Got to do my bucket list moment and visited Lake Louise.
Having got that all off my chest, lets get onto a better subject-Canada. Have you ever been on a holiday and gone to place and just looked and gone 'WOW'. IT doesn't matter how many photos you take and show to the folks back home none of them will do it justice. We spent our 4 days in Canada travelling through British Columbia and Alberta. The dominant features of the area are of course the Rocky Mountains and the amazing lake and river systems that surround them. All their nationalparks are called provincial parks and we seemed to spend a lot of time going in and out of them.
A couple of funny things - dogs are allowed everywhere even the national parks, tried maple syrup, pancakes and bacon - really not my thing, have found some really nice wine, Colin, Richie ( mysteriously called Ricky by some people n the group) and Russ are all quickly filling up the cards , that's how many photos and hours of filminghas been done aleady.
As far as the wildlife is concerned, we have seen elk roaming casually around the motel grounds in Jasper eating all sorts of greenery, Mountain goat and kid standing in the road, ground squirrels checking us out and a few lucky ones have managed to spot a bear. Russ desperately wants to see one ( but hopefully not too close) , a deer and family casully wandering down the street in Waterton this morning.
The group is really starting to settle now with everyone  getting to know each other - great group with lots of laughter going on.

I thinnk that will do for the talking so I will just load some photos on for you to have a look. Russ has just nipped down to the supermarket so I have a bit of quiet time to catch up. Hope you like the photos.
Cheers
H
